This session is special to me because I went to high school with Julian! After almost 10 years of not seeing one another, he moved up to Dallas to be with his now fiancé, Brandee. Remembering that I’m a wedding photographer, he asked me to photograph his proposal! It’s one thing to be trusted with photos of strangers, but I feel extra honored when someone who knows me chooses me to freeze these moments for them.
After photographing their proposal, they reached out to me to photograph their engagement session at the Kimball Art Museum.
We originally chose another location for their engagement photos. We were originally going to a field! But every time we picked a date, we would get to the day and it would rain. They needed to send their save the dates out asap, so when their session date came around and it was yet again raining… we made a last minute location change to the Kimball Art Museum for their engagement photos.
This is a go-to spot for me because of how elegant and classic this spot is. But one of my favorite parts is the covering! The covered area (and low traffic because it was raining) made for the most perfect engagement photos. You can’t even tell it’s raining!
After their session, Brandee texted me saying, “you perfectly captured our personalities!”
That’s what I aim to do at every single session – capture my couple’s personalities and get incredible photos at the same time. I describe my style as natural, candid, and documentary.
